COURSE PROVISION
1.1 LC Idiomas GC, SLU, with registered office at Calle República Dominicana, 17, 35010, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, offers Spanish courses subject to these Conditions, the reservation and acceptance of which shall constitute the "Contract".
1.2 The academy may modify these Terms and Conditions at any time for future courses and the modifications will be published on this website.
1.3 If the course booked by the Student is no longer available, the School will immediately inform the Student in writing or by email and will endeavour to offer an alternative course which is reasonably acceptable. If this option is not possible, the School may cancel the Contract by notifying the Student in writing and refunding any monies already paid.
COURSE BOOKINGS AND CONDITIONS
2.1 Reservations for Group Courses. The first instalment must be paid in full before the start of the course to guarantee a place. For Action English (AE) courses, payment must be made before 15th September, otherwise the place will be forfeited.
2.2 Bookings for individual and mini-group classes. The academy reserves the right to release the timetable for individual or mini-group sessions if no response is received from the student regarding the renewal of the voucher.
2.3 Validity of the hours voucher. Vouchers shall be valid for a maximum of:
8 weeks for the 10-hour voucher,
12 weeks for the 20-hour voucher,
15 weeks for the 30-hour voucher.
Hours not used within the term are non-refundable, non-consumable and non-transferable.
2.4 Reservation of places in conversation classes. Reservations must be made in person or online using the Conversation Class Form, at least 24 hours before the scheduled class.
2.5 Exam preparation courses (except Cambridge). Access is subject to the recommendations of the Academic Coordination team according to the level of the student.
2.6 Cambridge exam preparation courses. It is essential to take a mock exam to gain access to the course, access being subject to the result obtained and the recommendations of the Academic Coordination team.
Preservation of certificatesCambridge certificates will be archived for a maximum of 6 months after notification of their arrival.
2.7 General Plus and Intensive courses. It is compulsory to take the individual sessions during the 4 weeks of the course. Sessions not taken cannot be made up.
DEREGISTRATION, CANCELLATION, NO-SHOW AND/OR ABANDONMENT
3.1 Both temporary (leave of absence) and permanent leave of absence must be communicated and signed at the reception of the centre between the 1st and 15th of the month prior to the month in which it is requested.
3.2 Students may request a leave of absence for justified reasons, with a minimum of one consecutive month and a maximum of two leaves of absence per academic year, with a maximum total duration of 2 months. The application must be made within the deadlines indicated for permanent leave. Each month of leave of absence entails a €25 place reservation fee, to be paid in advance.
3.3 The client understands that the renewal of the fee is automatic and that in order to cancel it, he/she must inform the reception of the centre from the 1st to the 15th of the month prior to the renewal.
3.4 The Language Campus academic year ends in June. It is compulsory to attend classes in that month. Students who do not attend will automatically lose their place and will not be entitled to a refund. Those who lose their place due to unjustified non-attendance in June must enrol as new students in the following academic year and will not be eligible for renewal offers.
STATEMENT ON HEALTH STATUS
4.1 Students must declare on the registration form any:
physical or mental illness,
allergy,
disability,
or condition that:
may interfere with their ability to complete the course satisfactorily,
may affect the health or well-being of other students, teachers or staff,
may require medical follow-up, treatment or emergency intervention during training.
Language Campus reserves the right to refuse or terminate a student's training if their participation poses a risk to their own health and safety or that of others. In such cases, Language Campus will determine the refund policy to be applied, at its discretion.
PUBLIC HOLIDAYS AND SCHOOL CALENDAR
5.1 There will be no classes on official holidays. Classes will not be made up or compensated financially, and students must continue to pay their monthly fees, which are pro-rata fees of the annual course price and do not depend on the number of class hours each month.
5.2 Courses for children (3-18 years) follow the school calendar, including holidays. Adult courses continue as normal, except on public holidays.
SUBSTITUTION POLICY
6.1 Course relocation or cancellationThe school reserves the right to relocate a student to a group of an appropriate level or to cancel a course at any time if the minimum number of students necessary for its viability is not reached.
6.2 Replacement of teachersLanguage Campus will be able to assign a substitute teacher if the titular teacher is unable to continue for any reason, guaranteeing the continuity of the training.
PAYMENT
7.1 For Individual, Mini-Group, Intensive, General Plus, Exam Preparation, Online and Blended Learning courses, payment of the full course fee must be made no later than 7 days before the start of the course (due date).
7.2 All bookings are subject to acceptance by Language Campus.
7.3 Payment of monthly fees for 'Action English' and 'General' courses must be made by direct debit, charged on the 1st of each month. Exceptionally, if the student does not have a Spanish bank account, the fee may be paid at reception by cash, credit card or international transfer, with a supplement of €5 for administration costs, and within a period of 1 to 5 of each month. Failure to pay the fee may result in the loss of the place.
7.4 Payments will be automatically renewed unless a cancellation or change of account is requested between the 1st and 15th of the month prior to renewal.
7.5 Language Campus reserves the right to invoice the course fee at any time after acceptance of the booking.
7.6 All payments for the course will be made in euros.
7.7 Language Campus may increase the price of the course when reasonable and justified by circumstances such as tax increases, government measures or increased labour costs. The student will be informed prior to the start of the course.
7.8 Such price increases shall not affect the student's legal right to cancel the contract.
7.9 RegistrationAt the beginning of each course, a non-refundable registration fee of €30 must be paid to cover administration costs. For Action English or Aktion German courses, the registration fee must be paid before 15 September of each school year.
7.10 Language Campus may ask the student for proof of payment of the course before or at the beginning of the course; failure to do so may result in the denial of access to the course.
BOOKS AND LEARNING MATERIALS
8.1 Students will be provided with the necessary books and materials for the duration of the course. Some programmes may require the purchase of additional books or photocopiable material, the cost of which will be €15.
8.2 The price of books is detailed in the academic year magazine published by Language Campus.
CANCELLATIONS
9.1 Individual lessons, mini-group lessons, or the individual part of General Plus and Intensive courses, can be cancelled and rescheduled provided that at least 24 hours notice is given by WhatsApp message to the school's reception. Classes cancelled outside this period will be deducted from the voucher and cannot be made up, rescheduled or reassigned.
RETURNS
10.1 Class vouchers are non-transferable and non-refundable.
10.2 For Action English and Academic Year courses, if the direct debit bill is returned by the bank, a penalty of €4 plus the amount of the returned monthly payment will be applied.
10.3 The registration fee is in any case non-refundable.
10.4 In the case of group courses, there is no refund of the amount paid, unless the course does not reach the minimum number of participants (8 people) or the course opens at a different time to that initially requested.
CHANGE OR CANCELLATION OF COURSE
11.1 Language Campus reserves the right to change or cancel a course, the location or the facilities, without prior notice, in the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond its control, or if the number of registrations does not reach the minimum number necessary to ensure the viability of the course.
RESPONSIBILITY
12.1 Language Campus accepts no liability for material loss, damage or harm related to participation in the courses, except in cases of gross negligence attributable to the centre or its employees.
12.2 Language Campus shall not be liable for any loss, damage, costs, expenses or other claims arising from cancellations, delays or any circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to: traffic jams, adverse weather conditions, failure of public transport or illness.
INDISPOSITION, INJURY AND ABSENTEEISM
13.1 In the event of illness or injury to a minor student, his/her parents or legal guardian will be contacted immediately and, if necessary, the student will be taken to the nearest hospital or medical centre.
13.2 Students who do not attend 80% of the course classes will forfeit the right to receive a certificate of completion.
EXCLUSION AND EXPULSION
14.1 The student may be expelled from the course immediately if, in the reasonable opinion of Language Campus, he/she commits a serious offence or accumulates three minor offences. In the event of expulsion, no refund will be made for the remaining days of the course.
Grounds for expulsion include, among others:
Use or possession of illegal drugs.
Use or possession of alcohol.
Violent or abusive behaviour.
Possession of weapons.
Any other serious crime.
14.2 Student Code of Conduct:
The student agrees to respect the rules and policies of the school. Inappropriate behaviour includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Disturbances in class (use of foul language, bullying, use of mobile phones).
Intentional damage, misuse or theft of Language Campus or other students' property.
Violence or threats towards other students or staff members.
Inappropriate use of the Internet.
Breach of copyright laws or failure to declare pre-existing medical or mental health conditions.
PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA (LOPD)
In compliance with Organic Law 3/2018, of 5 December, on Personal Data Protection and guarantee of digital rights, as well as Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), LC Idiomas GC SLU informs you that the personal data provided will be incorporated into a file owned by LC Idiomas GC SLU for the purpose of managing the administrative and commercial relations derived from the contracting of courses, as well as informing you about future services or activities of the academy.
Acceptance of these conditions implies consent to the processing of your data for the purposes indicated.
The client may at any time exercise their rights of access, rectification, cancellation, opposition, limitation or portability of their data by sending a letter to LC Idiomas GC SLU, C/ República Dominicana, 17, 35011 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Las Palmas, or an email to mesaylopez@lcampus.co.
COMPLAINTS
At Language Campus we work to offer a quality service that meets your expectations. If at any time you are not satisfied with the service you have received, please follow these steps to resolve your issue as efficiently as possible:
Training: if the problem is related to your lessons or learning, first report it to your teacher. If you do not get a satisfactory solution, please contact the Language Campus reception.
Administration: if the problem is related to payment, billing or other administrative issues, please contact reception directly for resolution.
CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Any dispute arising in relation to the courses or services offered by LC Idiomas GC SLU will be resolved before the competent jurisdictional bodies in accordance with current Spanish legislation. Both parties expressly waive any other dispute resolution mechanism (including administrative bodies or arbitration), unless there is a legal obligation to the contrary.
FORUM
For any litigation related to the interpretation, execution or fulfilment of this contract, the parties expressly submit themselves to the Courts and Tribunals of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, renouncing any other jurisdiction that may correspond to them, provided that there is no imperative rule to the contrary.
ACCEPTANCE OF CONDITIONS
Participation in any LC Idiomas GC SLU programme implies full acceptance of all the conditions described in this document, which are understood to be accepted from the moment of signing the enrolment form or booking the course.
