Visits and cultural activities to enrich your Spanish

Scheduled visits to the Columbus House Museum are available for groups of all educational levels.

This visit is conceived as a complement to the learning process of cultural, functional and lexical aspects integrated into the curriculum.

The person in charge of supervising this activity will be the teacher of the group of students participating in the visit.

purpose of this visit is to connect students with the history of their local community and to place them in a specific communicative context of daily life. This activity complements the learning of cultural, functional, and lexical content included in the curriculum. The group's teacher will supervise the students' activity.

The visit to the Néstor Museum is a teacher-supervised activity that offers a unique opportunity to enrich learning with cultural, functional, and lexical aspects integrated into the curriculum, allowing it to be complemented with art workshops or educational materials . It is a guided tour, tailored to the group, to discover the art exhibition of Néstor Martín Fernández de la Torre , along with several displays in the Red Room.

Our Spanish courses include various reading suggestions designed to promote the of students' reading comprehension 'Marianela' by Pérez Galdós , in a version specially adapted for foreign students.

Among the activities related to the text, we have considered it beneficial to include a guided tour of this House-Museum , with the main objective of familiarizing students with the figure of Galdós and the city of Las Palmas. The teacher of the student group will be in charge of this activity.

The Atlantic Center for Modern Art (CAAM) offers the opportunity to participate in its program of guided visits, available to groups of all educational levels. This program complements the learning process, enriching the cultural, functional, and lexical content covered in the course curriculum.

The main purpose is to advance in the understanding and production of specialized texts that students should master at the end of the academic period, supervised, as well as the activity, by the teacher in charge of the group.

The program of planned visits to the House of the Poet Tomás Morales , available for groups of any level, is also an ideal complement to the learning process.

The aim of the visit is to introduce students to one of the most outstanding poets of the Canary Archipelago , while also seeking to deepen their understanding and production of specialized texts that students will need to master at the end of the course.

As with the previous ones, this activity will be supervised by the teacher of the group that will carry out the visit.

SOCIOCULTURAL ACTIVITIES TO ENRICH YOUR SPANISH

To celebrate the start of the new year
fireworks displays will take place on the last day of the year (December 31) with which Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will welcome the following year .

The Three Wise Men arrive by sea to the capital of Gran Canaria every January 5th, at which time the city's mayor, Carolina Darias, officially presents them with the "keys to the city," essential for carrying out their most important mission of the year: delivering gifts to children. Within the training activities included in our Spanish courses , students will be able to enjoy a cultural excursion to some of the towns and villages of the island of Gran Canaria , such as Teror, Moya, Arucas, Gáldar or Santa María de Guía, among others, with the purpose of exploring their particular picturesque characteristics and learning about cultural aspects related to art, gastronomy and the natural environment.
