Who are the students you will be hosting?
Language Campus regularly welcomes boys and girls aged 14 to 17 from various countries who come to the Canary Islands with a clear objective: to learn Spanish and experience firsthand the life of a Canarian family . These motivated young people are accompanied and supervised throughout their stay. They come to study at our centers in Las Palmas and practice the language in the most authentic environment possible: a home.

Requirements to be a host family
Easy to fulfill, with no forced commitments and with the full support of our team
You don't need anything special to be a great host family. Just a willingness to share and four basic requirements that you probably already meet: living in Gran Canaria, having Spanish as the main language of the house, having a room available for the student, and being willing to welcome them as another member of the family .
Stays can range from one week to several months , and we always coordinate the periods with you in advance.
What is daily life like with a student at home?
The student attends Spanish classes daily at our centers in Las Palmas. Outside of class time, living with a host family is the heart of the experience : dinners at home, weekend plans, everyday conversations.
There's no need to organize anything special. The daily routine of a Canarian family is, in itself, the best Spanish class an international student can receive.

What type of students participate in these programs?
They are young people between the ages of 14 and 17 from different countries around the world who come to Las Palmas to learn Spanish with Language Campus. They are motivated students, eager to learn, and are accompanied and supervised by our team throughout their stay.
Will I receive any financial compensation for being a host family?
You will receive financial compensation for each week the student stays in your home. The amount is designed to cover the costs of hosting and provide you with a real extra income. When you register, our team will provide you with the specific financial terms based on the type of hosting arrangement.
Do I need to be able to offer him full board?
It's not mandatory . If your work schedule doesn't allow you to offer full board, that's perfectly fine. Some students prefer to use external accommodation options. Our team matches the student's profile with each family's actual resources. We find the perfect match.
Do I need a specific language level to register as a host family?
It's not mandatory; speaking Spanish is enough.
